Shadow Wood Country Club is one of the most expansive communities in Estero and a member of the larger planned community called The Brooks.
It is an exclusive golf community, located on the border of Estero and Bonita Springs. These upscale homes are thoughtfully designed to preserve the natural landscape typical of Southwest Florida.
This luxury, gated community consists of 34 distinct neighborhoods spread across 350 acres. There are 85 different lakes and many fairways throughout Shadow Wood.
Residents of Shadow Wood can enjoy the amenities within their specific community, but also those shared by The Brooks communities, namely the Commons Club and Rookery restaurant.
Being a part of a larger planned community provides additional opportunities for socializing, enjoying the amenity offerings, or even just meeting new tennis partners!

Shadow Wood Real Estate
With so many distinct neighborhoods, there are home options for every buyer. Whether you are looking for a single-family style residence, an attached villa, or a condominium, you’re sure to find it here.
Prices at Shadow Wood range from the mid $300Ks to over $2.5M. Typically condominiums are less expensive, while the free-standing single-family homes are at the high end of the price range.
Prices do vary based on total square footage of the property as well as finishes and luxury items.
The homes range from just under 2,000 square feet to well over 3,000 square feet. Some have private pools, others have views of the golf course.
An additional detail of these homes that often attracts buyers is the size of the lots. Some are nearly half an acre, which is rare in gated communities!
Many of the residences at Shadow Wood have private pools and hot tubs with screened lanais. Others feature outdoor kitchens with gas grills and fountains. The only limits at Shadow Wood are your budget and your imagination!
Shadow Wood Country Club Amenities
Shadow Wood Country Club is a golf community, but not a bundled golf community, make sure you know the difference before you start house hunting!
Golf Membership
There are three different golf courses available to members, but at a cost. The initiation fee for golf membership is $85,000. Yes, you read that right. Annual golf dues are an additional $12,000.
These fees are above and beyond the typical HOA fees that you pay to enjoy the pools, fitness center, landscaping, etc.
Sticker shock aside, if you are an avid golfer, this may be the place for you. The north course was opened in 2001 and later redesigned by Rees Jones in 2017.
The south course was opened in 1998 and redesigned (also by Rees Jones) in 2018. Finally, the Preserve Course was opened in 2003 and designed by Arthur Hills. There is a practice range available but no caddies.
Tennis, Bocce & Fitness
Aside from golf, Shadow Wood offers tennis, a world class fitness facility, bocce ball courts, and a hopping social calendar.
Throughout the year there are wine tasting, cooking demonstrations, a Super Bowl party and even a clam bake! There is sure to be something to keep everyone busy!
Shadow Wood Surrounding Area
The Estero/Bonita Springs area is underrated as far as convenience goes. Shadow Run is located off Three Oaks Parkway between Williams Road and Coconut Road, with easy access to US-41 and interstate 75. With these options, you can get just about anywhere with a quick drive.
Southwest Florida is known for its sandy beaches and seashells, both of which can be found not far from Shadow Wood.
Whether you choose to visit Bonita Beach or Lovers Key, or travel further away to Sanibel & Captiva Islands, there is sun, sand, and surf galore. All these options mean you will never get bored of beach-going!
If you are in the mood to eat and shop, the Coconut Point shopping center, with its terra cotta roofs is just around the corner. Here you will find conveniences like pet stores and big box retailers, as well as fine dining, boutiques, and even gelato!
Time for back-to-school or holiday shopping? Be sure to hit up Miromar Outlets, nearby in Estero, to find deals galore on clothing, watches, handbags, and kitchen goods. Whatever you need, the greater Bonita Springs area is sure to have what you are looking for.
