SW Florida is known for its stunning Gulf beaches, beautiful riverfront neighborhoods, world-class golf courses and tremendous shopping and dining. Fort Myers, Bonita Springs, Estero and Naples are among the fastest growing cities in Florida. People who are moving here are more often than not looking for master-planned, gated communities.
There are so many options when it comes to secure, gated communities. There are numerous high-end gated golf communities, gated waterfront communities, gated condominium communities and gated master-planned communities.
Two Types of Gated Communities
There are two main types of gated communities in SW Florida. The first, and most abundant, are the automatic gates that generally have an arm that moves up to allow entry usually triggered by a “garage door type remote” or by a barcode decal on the vehicle. Some automatic gates are large metal gates that swing open.
The other type of gated community is an on-duty guard community. Typically these guards are professional security personnel hired by the HOA. There will most often be two lanes into the community where residents can conveniently use one lane to automatically be granted access through a remote or barcode. The other lane is reserved for visitors to check-in with the on duty guard.
